Introduction

RTE–MIS is a web application that helps state governments implement Section 12(1)(c) of the Right to Education Act, 2009. 

Section 12(1)(c) mandates that 25% of seats in Class 1 in all private schools be reserved for children from disadvantaged groups in the neighborhood.

The application has been developed as a Digital Public Good (DPG)—an open-source technology that state governments can use independently or with support from Indus Action.

Its Goal is to enable the policy across all 36 states/UTs and ensure welfare benefits reach every eligible child.

This document outlines the use of these features and modules and details the workflows for each module.
