Introduction

< 1 min read

RTEโ€“MIS (Right to Education โ€“ Management Information System) is a web-based application designed to support state governments in implementing Section 12(1)(c) of the Right to Education Act, 2009.

This section mandates that 25% of seats in Class 1 in all private schools be reserved for children from disadvantaged groups and economically weaker sections in the neighborhood.

Developed as a Digital Public Good (DPG), RTEโ€“MIS is an open-source solution that can be adopted independently by any state government or implemented with support from Indus Action.

Objective

To enable seamless implementation of RTE 12(1)(c) across all 36 States and Union Territories, ensuring that every eligible child benefits from the policy.
